"Carbs" are organic compounds occurring in foods and living tissues including sugars,starch,and cellulose.
They contain hydrogen and oxygen in the same ratio as water(2:1),& can be broken down to release energy in the body.
The main purpose for "carbs" is energy.
They can also be turned into fat for(stored energy)for later use.
Refined "carbs"are associated with obesity and metabolic diseases such as sugar sweetened drinks,pastries,white bread etc.
High fiber "carbs" such as vegetables,fruits,& whole grains lead to improved metabolic health and a lower risk of disease.
Just know that all "carbs" are not equal,& choosing which ones to eat effect you differently. You be the judge!
