Controlled reps are how you develop strength.

Slow,ego put in check. Complete focus. Doing as many as you can per heaviest weight as you can do. Listening to your body.

Cheating reps are good and effective as well. If your training for athletics,or being an athlete,then you can have cheated reps because your training for performance.
